Problems?

What to do if something goes wrong? Here are some possible problems – and how to deal with them. But if there is a problem of any time, contact the Time Broker for advice.

If you need to cancel or postpose an exchange

Don’t worry – contact the Time Broker so we can let the other person know the exchange has to be postponed or cancelled. Or if you have the other person’s contact details, let them know direct – but also let the Time Broker know. Try to give as much notice as possible.

If an emergency arises during an exchange

If it’s urgent, dial 999 immediately and ask for the appropriate service. Contact the Time Broker when it’s safe to do so.

If someone is hurt or injured during an exchange

If the injury is serious, dial 999 and call an ambulance. For a less serious injury, get medical attention if necessary. Contact the Time Bank when it’s safe to do so.

Personal injury is covered by the Time Bank’s insurance. But this insurance only covers exchanges which have been organised through the Time Bank – which is why you should not arrange exchanges direct with other members without the Time Bank’s knowledge.

If there is a breakage or damage to property during an exchange

Contact the Time Broker as soon as possible to explain what has happened. Breakages are covered by the Time Bank’s insurance. But this insurance only covers exchanges which have been organised through the Time Bank – which is why you should not arrange exchanges direct with other members without the Time Broker’s knowledge.

If you’re not happy with work that has been done for you

Contact the Time Broker as soon as possible, so that we can see if we can help to sort things out. As long as the work was arranged through the Time Bank it will be covered by our insurance policy. But this insurance only covers exchanges which have been organised through the Time Bank – which is why you should not arrange exchanges direct with other members without the Time Bank’s knowledge.
