Who can join Stratford Time Bank?

Anyone aged 18 or over can apply to become a member of Stratford Time Bank. You can apply online or e-mail us at welcome@stratfordtimebank.org.uk, providing your name, address and phone number.

Normally you will live or work in Stratford-on-Avon district – but feel free to contact us if you don’t: there may be a good reason why joining Stratford Time Bank is best for you.

The joining process

When we receive your application, Sarah Coxall the Time Broker will get in touch and arrange to meet you.

At this meeting she will discuss with you what you are looking for and how you might benefit from Time Bank activities. If you would like to see the forms we use, click here to see the application form and click here to see what information we collect about things you can offer or request.

During this meeting we also aim to find out a bit more about you – for example, what sort of transport you use to get about, whether you are a smoker or a non-smoker. Things like this might determine what sorts of exchanges you might take part in. For example, it might not be a good idea to put a smoker and non-smoker together – or to ask someone to help with a job if they’ve no way to get there.

We also ask you to indicate the types of things you might offer to help with – and the types of things where you might be looking for help. Click here here to see the types of standard services we have on offer. But don’t worry if there are other things you can do or want – we can note them all down and included them in the system.

Everyone applying to join Stratford Time Bank is also asked to provide references – these will be two people who know a little about you. And if you are offering to work with vulnerable people we may need a police check. Details go on our secure Time Bank database.

When we have received satisfactory references, we will get in touch to welcome you to Stratford Time Bank. We will take you through the Time Bank’s Member’s Handbook, which tells you more about how the Time Bank works and includes your Agreement with Stratford Time Bank. For those with access to a computer, we will take you through the arrangements for managing your account through Stratford Time Bank’s computer system.
